FTP comes up with random erros and I can't login
This is caused if you try and connect using passive mode. You MUST use non-passive mode to FTP to our servers.Uploading files to your website (FTP)
To upload your website to our servers you will need the following information:Your Username
Your password
[If you do not have these or have forgotten your password, please contact us.]
Your FTP address will be:
ftp.yourdomain.co.uk
For example Hosting Systems will be: ftp.hostingsystems.co.uk
! Do not
type in www.yourdomain.co.uk !
You will require an FTP program to upload your pages such as WSFTPRO.
There are 2 folders available when you have connected. The first one is called Data, here you can upload any databases your website uses to ensure they are secure. (Note: the default permission for everyone is read only, if you require Update permission, please email us) The other folder is Website. This is where you need to upload your website to.
IMPORTANT: Due to our increased security systems, you need to ensure that Passive Mode is NOT ticked when using FTP, otherwise the FTP program will time out. If you are using a MAC we recomend cyberduck which gives you the additional passive mode control.
