Upgrades
- Outgoing Mail Server Upgrade
We have a new outgoing mail server. If you have email with us, please change your OUTGOING mail server setting to:
smtprelay.hostingsystems.co.uk
Do not change your incoming mail server or your username and password.
If you are unable to login, please check that your email is all in lower case, and that you have typed the mail server name correctly. If you are using an ADSL supplier that insists you use them for your outgoing mail, do not change your settings.
- Exchange Server Customers Only
If you own an exchange server and use us as a smart host, it is very important that you change your outgoing server to our new server. It is also very important that you ensure your exchange server is kept up to date and patched. A recent vulnerability has caused some of our exchange server customers to be cut off, as they were not patched and were spamming. If you wish to limit your SMTP connection to your mail server from us, please limit to 93.159.201.0 – 255 IP range. Contact your Exchange IT support company or us if you need to know more.
- Global IP Upgrade
All our servers have been upgraded to our new network IP range: 93.159.201.* If you are responsible for your own DNS, or you have IP addresses used in FTP or email settings you will need to update them to the new IP address from the old one. e.g. If the IP address is 195.10.240.52 then change to 93.159.201.52 - The last block stays the same number.
Slowly some services will be turned off the old IP range. If you have an issue, please check that you are using the new IP Address.
Issues
- Inbox Size Limits Issue
Our standard email has a 50MB limit. This is plenty if you have a POP box where you download your email to your computer. If you are using webmail or IMAP permanently, this is not a service that is provided by this standard email. To reduce the issues of people abusing the storage, all email accounts will be limited to 50MB. If you need more than 50MB, we can upgrade you to our hosted email service, please contact us or visit our Hosted Email page to find out more about the costs and upgrade options.
